Traveling to Karuizawa...

We spent the night in a really nice hotel for a good nights rest…which we all needed after being cramped on the plane for 11 hours...

Emmie was our host today - Thank God for her! She had all of our tickets and led us through our day...

we traveled back to the airport then onto train #1; The Narita Express from Narita to the downtown Tokyo station. The train was clean, smooth and fast… We stopped for some happy snacks for the two or so hours of train rides ahead of us...

It took us about an hour to get into Tokyo Station; what a place! Packed with thousands of people going in all different directions at once – no one running into each other…

We boarded train #2 the Shinkansen (bullet train) which traveled about 70 mph in the city and pretty close to 100mph in the country – it was SO FAST…

We arrived safely in the mountain town of Karuizawa where we will work with the kids for the next week...

We got to scope out the areas we will work with the children and meet the few families that had arrived already... Tomorrow is setup and planning for the week... Before dinner it was lightly snowing... The retreat center here is lovely and pretty comfortable... All are well and excited to see what God will bring us tomorrow...
